A few items of interest about the project:
August 20, 2005 was the date of my parents 50th wedding anniversary.
As the day approached, I raced against the clock to create a
full-length documentary about their 50 years together. We hoped
to show a condensed version at their 50th Anniversary celebration.
Unfortunately, my father died from pulminary fibrosis on July 12, just
39 days before their anniversary.
Having done a lot of work already, including over 9 hours of interviews
on videotape, I decided that the documentary project should continue.
It seemed all the more important to commit to history what kind of
people my parents were, especially in remembrance of Dad.
So, on August 20, 2005, instead of the originally-planned party, we
held a public showing of "Ordinary Excellence", my documentary, both
to honor Mom and remember Dad. Approximately 75 people came to see
50 years of history and the godly legacy they left.
